I used to play this game where I would think of the most absurd domain name I could think of, and then see if it was registered. When I found out that “StinkyFeet.com” was gone, I figured that all the good domains must have long since been taken. But I was wrong.
The best example is BlogOrDie.com, this web site, which I registered just a few months back. But today I looked up StuffYouCantFindOnTheWeb.com, and it and all its extensions, were available. So there are still snappy things if you think creatively.
By the way, BlogOrDie.org, net, .us, … are still available.
