I’m collecting things I would like to see Tesla provide for its cars. Teslas are unique in their ability to receive over-the-air updates providing significant new functionality to the car.
- A button on the touch screen that causes the car to play engine noise at high volume for use when pedestrians are walking down the middle of the street oblivious to the Tesla car behind them. [Update: Since September, Model 3 has come with an external speaker for this purpose.]
- Ability to trigger the Homelink garage door opener from the Tesla app. [Update: this feature was added in Version 10 of the firmware]
- Use cameras rather than ultrasonic sensors for Autopark. Currently the car can’t autopark unless there are other cars to sense.
- Provide 360-degree view of car surroundings on touch screen.
