Incoming Radio: DeepSDR V6

This is a semi-blind experiment, to try something new after bypassing the new Tecsun PL-520 and MLite-880 SDR. The photo doesn’t show it, but there is a waterfall display. The price from Banggood is $72.99 with shipping, plus tax. They’re also available on Amazon for (gasp) $150 plus tax.

DeepSDR V6

There are lots of radios these days in similar concepts, a firmware upgradeable color display with and a single encoder button. I have an ATS25 max-Decoder, Amnvolt ATS Si4732 mini and Sparkelec DP-666. They all bring something to the table, and I hope the 4.3″ touch screen display and SDR capability will be an asset. The SDR display width is 192 kHz.

It supports frequencies from 100 kHz to 149 MHz, AM, SSB, CW and stereo FM with earphones. A 5000 mAh battery is advertised to support up to 12 hours play. It appears to be based on the Si5351 chip. There is a similar-looking DeepSDR 101 (a product from 2022) on the Deepelec website that includes a manual. And indeed, the Banggood product description for the V6 says it’s for the 101, including contradictory description of the antenna connector as BNC and SMA; SMA appears correct.

I snagged this image from the GT Retro World YouTube channel:

The DeepSDR V6 comes with manual, charging cable, telescopic antenna and a touch pen. I’m thinking delivery in mid February.
